Part #1 of the opening to one of my all time favorite PC games, JumpStart Adventures 3rd Grade: Mystery Mountain. I loved this game when I was a kid. Its rare when a game meant to educate you is so much fun. For those who also grew up playing it, I hope you enjoy this bit of nostalgia. I cant believe after all these years it still works. Awesome. 8D This game had a sci-fi theme to it. The plot was that Polly Spark, the bratty daughter of a scientist, used her dad's time machine to send 25 robots into the past to screw up time. You, the player, had to help a friendly robot named Botley rescue the other robots and stop Polly from making the world really weird. I had forgotten how long the introduction was. This also includes the memory game you had to play to get into the mountain. This game and its characters are NOT mine. They are (c) Knowledge Adventure, Inc. Special thanks to my brother for helping me record this.

Part #2 of the opening to one of my all time favorite PC games, JumpStart Adventures 3rd Grade: Mystery Mountain. Like I said before, I loved this game as a kid. I had forgotten how complex it was though. I mean...wow. To help Botley rescue the robots Polly sent back in time, the player had to complete 25 missions. This shows the first mission being selected. The player had to pick a question on a device called the TransQuizzer, then play the games in the mountain to collect four clues. Once all the clues were collected, the player could go to the time machine to rescue a robot. The player also needed to collect invention points to be able to enter the room with the time machine. This also includes a look at each floor of the mountain. This game and its characters are NOT mine. They are (c) Knowledge Adventure, Inc. Special thanks to my brother for helping me record this.

A third grade literature circle discusses a chapter from Cam Jansen: The Mystery of the Stolen Diamonds by David Adler. This concluded only their second week as a literature circle. Notice that none of the students had been assigned a role, yet students did an outstanding job of carrying the high level conversation. Students are encouraged to make connections, predictions, inferences, and ask higher-order questions--all which backed by text evidence. Great job, third grade.
